Opening of the 2026 hiking season

Every year, the hiking season in the Oberharz is officially opened in April by the team from the Altenau Tourist Information Centre, the Altenau branch of the Harzklub e.V. and the Kurbetriebsgesellschaft. A special highlight awaits all hikers in 2026: the witches from Bruchberg will open the season together with all hiking enthusiasts. There will also be a Harz Hiking Needle stamp.

Participation in the hike and the season opening is free of charge.
