Upper Harz Lake and Summer Festival 2025
Look forward to games in the water and on land, a colourful mile in the Waldseebad Clausthal - an event for young and old! Summer in the Oberharz is cool! During your summer holiday in the Upper Harz, you can look forward to the Oberharzer See- und Sommerfest on Sunday, 20 July 2025 at the Waldseebad Clausthal-Zellerfeld,
which belongs to theUNESCO World Heritage Site of the Oberharzer Wasserregala huge water and land programme for the whole family.
The programme
On Sunday, 20 July 2025, the Oberharz will celebrate summer at the Waldseebad Clausthal-Zellerfeld from 11:00 to 18:00. Look forward to a huge water and land programme as well as a colourful mile in the Waldseebad Clausthal - an event for the whole family!
The colourful programme starts at 11.00 am with:
- beach volleyball
- canoeing, tiger duck rodeo and competitions on the water
- Running on the water with big water balls
- Aqua paddlers for children
- Super highlight stand up paddle XXL
- Pirate bouncy castle
- Tiger duck rodeo (competition 12-15 h, otherwise free use possible)
- Bubbelsoccer for teams of 3 to play
- Special stamping station for the Harz hiking pin
- Colourful stand mile with treats and drinks
- and much more
Visitors can of course swim and splash around in the Waldseebad or soak up the sun with ice cream and lemonade from the shore. There is also a lot on offer on land: the colourful mile of stands includes delicacies for every taste as well as information and games at the stands.
Three competitions invite you to test your strength:
- 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.: Beach volleyball tournament for children and adults (free entry for children, entry fee for adults 5 euros)
- 12 to 3 p.m.: TIGERENTEN-RODEO children's competition: Who can stay on the tiger duck the longest? (start free of charge)
- 3 to 5 p.m.: FAMILY, FRIENDS, COMPANY TROPHY: Competition with can race, three-legged race with egg race, canoe race, "hole in the bucket" (start free of charge)
Participants in the competitions will receive attractive prizes.

The Upper Harz Lake and Summer Festival is organised by GLC Glücksburg Consulting AG in cooperation with the youth welfare service of the mountain and university town of Clausthal-Zellerfeld and the Sports Institute of Clausthal University of Technology.
Admission to the family festival costs €4 per person (aged 6 and over), including all water and land games and swimming.
