Nordic Walking active Cup 2026 starts in Altenau
The dates for the Nordic Walking aktiv Cup 2026 have been finalised! The cup starts this year on Sunday, 17 May, in Altenau . In addition to the run, participants will receive a special Harzer Wandernadel stamp, a voucher for the Kristall-Therme Altenau and for the brewery's farm shop.
"Forest" climate trail opened in Buntenbock
The new interactive family hiking trail around Buntenbock offers a varied hiking route along the mountain meadows and ponds. The Brockenbande takes you on an exciting 7-kilometre journey of discovery on the subject of forests and climate.
Cattle drive in Wildemann
On Whitsunday, 24 May, the traditional cattle drive will once again take place in Wildemann. After the parade through the mountain town at around 10 a.m., the mountain farm "Klein Tirol" welcomes guests with a colourful farm festival. In the evening there is a cow ball party.
Whitsun meeting of the Oberharzer Heimatbund
On Whit Monday, 25 May 2026, from 10 a.m., all the groups of the Oberharzer Heimatbund will come together for their traditional Whitsun gathering in the Altenau spa gardens, where guests will be treated to a demonstration of songs, yodelling, folk dances, whip concerts, blacksmiths and cowherds' signals. Woodcarters, cowherds and miners are presented in their professional and festive costumes.

With "Harz Parks One", mountain bike fans in the Oberharz can look forward to a unique experience: five bike parks in the immediate vicinity ensure maximum variety, fast-paced trails and plenty of vertical metres. The special thing about it: All parks can be used with just one ticket - perfect for anyone looking for variety and action on two wheels.
Clausthal-Zellerfeld town festival
On the weekend of 12 to 14 June , Clausthal-Zellerfeld celebrates the town festival on Marktkirchenplatz and Adolph-Roemer-Straße. Visitors can look forward to the 89.o RTL clubnight with live music, the club mile with Sunday shopping, a large stage programme, the citizens' breakfast and the new "Balloon on the Crane" event. TU Clausthal's "Night of Science" will also be taking place.
Adventure hiking: Stamp round on the Altenau Heart Trail
Explore the Altenau Heart Trail with a special hiking pass and 7 stamps on the Harz Hiking Needle stamp circuit. A unique pin can be purchased as a memento of the hike with proof of the stamps.
