UNESCO World Heritage Week in the Upper Harz
From Monday 19 October to Sunday 25 October, the first ever World Heritage Week will take place in the Upper Harz. A week full of special discoveries and experiences will take visitors above and below ground to historic sites, impressive watercourses, adits and traces of mining. The programme showcases what remains of the World Heritage Site that can still be seen, experienced and utilised today.

"Superhero Forest" activity book on the Wald Climate Trail
A supplementary puzzle booklet, ‘Superheroes of the Forest’, is now available for the interactive family walking trail ‘Forest Climate Trail’ around Buntenbock. Join the Brockenbande on an exciting 7 km journey of discovery exploring the themes of the forest and climate, and solve the tasks in the booklet like real forest detectives.
On the hunt for souvenirs in the Upper Harz
A little bit of holiday every day: the Oberharz Tourist Information Centres are expanding their range to include new ‘Harzer Gold’ coins, as well as mugs and breakfast boards lovingly designed with Harz motifs. These will help keep memories of a wonderful holiday in the Harz alive. The products are now available at the Upper Harz tourist information centres.
