Exploring the wild forest – a nature experience for families
Lynx, red deer, wolves and wildcats are among the best-known inhabitants of our national park. The Harz National Park is renowned for its diverse flora and fauna. On our guided tour, we’ll take you into the wild forests around Torfhaus. Off the beaten track, we’ll look for signs of wildlife and get to know the inhabitants of this rugged wilderness. Holiday programme at the Upper Harz Mining Museum
The Upper Harz Mining Museum in Clausthal-Zellerfeld is offering a creative programme for children during the summer holidays: On Monday 27 July, children will make frog lanterns together; on Friday 31 July, they can get creative at a printing workshop; and on Tuesday 4 August, they’ll solve puzzles with the mysterious suitcase.
Harz Fun Days for Kids
At the Harzhotel zum Prinzen in Zellerfeld, participants will be taken on a journey through time, from ‘The Wishing Table’ to ‘The Sultan’ and right through to ‘Sweet Porridge’. All the children can also look forward to children’s punch and little treats to go with their fairy-tale adventure.

Festival of Lights 2026 in the Upper Harz
