Winter sports in the Harz Mountains
Welcome to the Oberharz winter sports region
The Upper Harz is the highest region of the Harz, which is considered the largest mountain range in northern Germany. The villagesAltenau, Buntenbock, Clausthal-Zellerfeld, Sankt Andreasberg, Torfhaus, Schulenberg and Wildemannare almost 400 to 950 metres above sea level and are comparable to some mountain resorts in southern Germany. These and places in the surrounding area offer a wide range of winter sports here in the Harz Mountains.
Wonderful when the weather gods bless the area with plenty of snow and sunshine. So winter-loving holidaymakers, day or weekend guests get their money's worth. In the centre of Germany and therefore easy to reach, this is a true paradise for winter sports. From tobogganing with its own lifts to cross-country skiing on kilometres of groomed trails and skiing or snowboarding on the pistes in the ski areas.
