Christmas aid campaign of the Clausthal-Zellerfeld Tourist Information starts on 29 November 2025

Wishing Christmas tree once again bears wishing stars for the Venito - Oberharz region

Clausthal-Zellerfeld, 01.12.2025 The Clausthal-Zellerfeld Tourist Information Office would like to give the children of Venito, a children's andyouth charityin Clausthal-Zellerfeld, a very special Christmas surprise again in 2025: A Christmas wish tree will once again be set up at the Clausthal-Zellerfeld - URLAUBSWELT HARZ tourist information centre, Adolph-Roemer-Straße 20, from Saturday 29 November 2025.

"The Christmas campaign is intended to benefit children aged 4 to 18 who live in the Venito Oberharz Oberharz. They choose small Christmas surprises in advance, write them down on a wishing star and hang it on the tree," explain Annett Dähne-Hüttner and Corinna Schmottlach from the Clausthal-Zellerfeld Tourist Information Centre.

All customers, locals and entrepreneurs from the region will then have the opportunity to take part in the Christmas campaign until 17 December 2025. They choose a wishing star from the Christmas tree, buy it for the child and leave a small personalised Christmas greeting if they wish. The wrapped presents are handed over to the children and the regional manager of Venito Oberharz, Daniel Knackstedt, by the tourist information centre in the week before Christmas. "On behalf of our children and young people, we are extremely grateful for any kind of gift, no matter how small! Direct kindness has become even more important in today's world and society. A wonderful campaign by the Clausthal-Zellerfeld Tourist Information Centre for our children, most of whom stay with us over the Christmas period," says Daniel Knackstedt.

"We want to convey warmth and charity in our local area during the Christmas season. To do this, we rely on all helpful people who pick and buy wishing stars from our Christmas tree or simply leave a donation. This year, we would once again like to thank the state forests in particular for their active support of our campaign," says Katharina Dundler, Team Leader of the Oberharz Tourist Information Centre.

The Christmas tree is being sponsored once again this year by the Lower Saxony State Forests/Clausthal Forestry Office, who are enthusiastic about the campaign.
