Winter fun in Altenau 2025
Family programme, winter party in the market garden, light figures and torchlight walk
In 2025, Altenau will once again be hosting family winter fun over the school vacations at the beginning of February. The market garden opens its doors again with its winter party from January 31 to February 3, 2025 from 2 to 9 pm. Get ready for some very special magic in the wintry Oberharz.
Guests can expect a varied program including a winter torchlight hike. You can also visit the "Altenauer" Eigenart arts and crafts exhibition in the Kurgastzentrum. The family fun day on Saturday in the market garden will be fun for young and old!

A wonderful winter party lies behind us. On Thursday, February 1, the winter party opened from 2 to 9 p.m. in the Altenau market garden and invited guests to a cosy get-together with wintery stalls and a DJ. On Saturday, 3 February, at 12:00 noon, the family Wintergaudi program did not start on the Rose ski meadow but in the Altenau market garden due to the weather: the "tobogganing competition" and "torchlight tobogganing" activities planned for the ski meadow were replaced by an attractive program. A new addition was the crafting of winter lanterns and snowmen from 1 to 3 pm. The lanterns could be used directly during the "Glühwürmchen-Lichterwanderung" from the market garden at 7 pm. The laser show program was also changed. It was replaced by "Winter Light Figures" with DJ Axel Seifert at the church at 6:30 pm. The search for the Altenau winter kings and queens as well as the baking of bread on sticks remain unchanged. Food and drink and a good atmosphere were provided in the small, cozy winter village at the foot of the church until 10 pm.
