Oberharz Mining Museum Clausthal-Zellerfeld

The Oberharz  Mining Museum Clausthal-Zellerfeld combines important exhibits with original mining equipment that you can discover and experience for yourself. In this way, you can learn about the development of ore mining from the Middle Ages to the end of the 20th century in a unique way. The day railway (starting at the old railway station in Clausthal-Zellerfeld) takes you on a 2.2 km long reconstructed conveyor line to the Ottiliae shaft.

Here you can not only see the oldest preserved steel headframe in Germany, but also a functioning winding system. Further information about the Oberharz Mining Museum can be found here.
