UNESCO Geopark Harz - Braunschweiger Land - Ostfalen

Geoparks are areas with special scenic or geological features and regions with a unique landscape, special fossil or mineral sites or significant geological formations.

You can obtain valuable information about the geological heritage of the Harz Mountains at the Geopark information points. For example in the National Park Centre Sankt Andreasberg and in the TorfHaus National Park Visitor Centre. Further information about the Geopark can be found here.

Here you will learn about the sedimentary structures and rocks of the Oberharz and the Brocken will be explained. You will also gain an insight into the more than thousand-year-old mining and research history of the Harz.
