The Oberharz is the centrepiece and also the highest region of the highest mountain range in northern Germany, the Harz.

 

Surrounded by beautiful forests and gentle mountain heights as well as romantic valleys, the six Oberharz villages lie at an altitude of 380 to 927 metres: Altenau, Buntenbock, Clausthal-Zellerfeld, Sankt Andreasberg, Schulenberg and Wildemann.
